In general, is it recommended that ARDS survivors get the Pfizer or Moderna booster shots when they become available? Also, are there any additional known side effects aside from those that are already cautioned for the original vaccines? Thank you, Eileen R., ARDS survivor

I think it is VERY important for ARDS survivors to get vaccinated in general. It follows that if booster shots are recommended, ARDS survivors should get boosters.
I think the evidence that boosters are needed is thin, but the downside of getting a booster is probably small. On the other hand, the risk of getting breakthrough COVID after 2 shots is potentially large, and I think this risk is likely greater in ARDS survivors.
