Up until an hour ago, I had never heard of ARDS. My mom has been in the hospital for two months, and she was recently diagnosed with ARDS. Does anyone have a recommendation of where to go for ARDS treatment? For example, we live in Louisiana. It’s pretty common knowledge that if one is diagnosed with cancer, you skip the local doctors and go straight to MD Anderson in Houston because “they are the best.” Is there a similar hospital with an impeccable reputation in dealing with ARDS?
Also, what types of questions should I be asking to determine her severity? I have read that there are different phases of ARDS and it is related to blood gases. Any help you guys could offer, I would greatly appreciate it!
I am glad that there is a support foundation for a disease that I am just learning about.
