Eileen Rubin, President of ARDS Foundation was invited to speak at Mayo Clinic Critical Care Grand Rounds where she shared her personal ARDS story of survival as well as addressing the following objectives: Determine how communication, or lack thereof, affects patients in the ICU; Examine own behavior and take action to humanize the ICU for patients and families; Recognize ways to have positive engagement with patients and families in the ICU.
