My cousin is selling his 2016 Huracan and I’m trying to figure out if buying from family makes me more or less paranoid
This is kind of a weird situation because I never thought I’d be in a position to even consider owning something with a raging bull on the hood but my cousin got a promotion and is moving to Singapore next month so he offered me his 2016 Huracan LP610 for what he claims is the “family discount” and while I trust the guy I’ve also seen how he drives when we’ve gone out to car meets together and let’s just say he’s not exactly gentle with the launch control. The car looks beautiful sitting in his garage and he swears it’s never been tracked but I know these V10s can get expensive fast if the clutch wear is high or if there’s any damage to the front lift system from scraping on those ridiculous speed bumps they have at some of the hotels. He’s being totally cool about me getting it checked out which is a good sign I guess but I also don’t want to insult him by bringing in some random mechanic who’s never touched a Lamborghini before, so I’ve been looking into a proper Lamborghini Pre Purchase Check in Dubai that can give me the real numbers on clutch life percentage and also check the underbody with a scope to make sure the lift cylinders aren’t leaking. Has anyone else here ever bought a supercar from a friend or family member and actually had the inspection turn up something awkward that changed the deal or did it all work out fine and I’m just being overly cautious because the idea of a five figure service bill keeps me up at night.
