Got my F12 shocks rebuilt for half what the dealer wanted and I’m still in shock myself
Just wanted to share a win for once because usually owning these cars is just a series of financial gut punches but I noticed a bit of fluid weeping from the front left damper on my 2012 F12 a few months back and the dealer quote for a new MagneRide strut literally made me consider selling the car and taking up a less stressful hobby like knitting or something and I started digging around online to see if anyone rebuilds these things or if I was just stuck paying the Maranello tax forever and a fellow owner in a local group pointed me toward some Ferrari shock absorber replacement experts Dubai who actually took the old unit out sent it off to be rebuilt with new seals and fluid and had it back on the car in about a week for less than half of what a single new strut costs from the dealer and the best part is the car rides exactly like it did before no warning lights no weird handling quirks just a properly functioning suspension that doesn’t make me want to cry every time I look at my bank statement. I was honestly skeptical because you hear so many stories about aftermarket fixes not playing nice with the Ferrari electronics but these guys clearly knew what they were doing and they even showed me the old internal seals that had just hardened up from the heat and age which made perfect sense given how these cars sit more than they drive out here and now I’m actually looking forward to driving it again instead of just staring at it in the garage and worrying about what’s going to break next. Anyone else had a positive experience with rebuilding these fancy dampers instead of replacing them or did I just get incredibly lucky with the right shop at the right time?
