Just got a new car and trying to figure out this whole ceramic vs carbon tint debate before summer hits
Picked up my new car last weekend and the first thing my neighbor said to me when I pulled into the parking spot was “you’re going to cook in there if you don’t get it tinted” and he wasn’t wrong because even with the AC on full blast I could feel the sun baking my forearm through the clear glass on the drive home from the dealership and now I’m down a rabbit hole of trying to understand the difference between dyed film carbon film and this ceramic stuff that everyone seems to rave about but costs almost double. I honestly had no idea there were so many options and I don’t want to be that person who just walks into the first shop and nods along to whatever they recommend without having a clue what I’m actually paying for and then regretting it two years later when the film fades to a weird shade of purple and starts peeling at the edges. I was scrolling through a few local forums and someone linked to https://www.exoticcarcare.ae/car-window-tinting-abu-dhabi and I read through the different film descriptions and it actually helped me understand why the heat rejection numbers matter more than just how dark it looks but I’m still trying to decide if the premium ceramic is worth the extra money for a car I’ll probably keep for five or six years or if the mid range carbon option is perfectly fine for daily commuting and the occasional trip to Dubai. Anyone have a strong opinion either way who isn’t just trying to upsell me at the shop because I feel like I’m overthinking this whole thing and I just need someone to say do this one and stop researching before your brain melts.
